We just played at NEFFA near Boston, lots of fun, a big festival of dancers and a huge variety of traditional musics.

An early sets night, so working folks can still get up the next day.
We've been away from our friends in Toronto,... come and see what we're up to.
The gig is to celebrate our new album, WITH THE NIGHT FAST APPROACHING, which will be released in earliest June 2011. Once again the album is guitar focused cross-Atlantic traditional songs, with some great fiddle played by piper/fiddler Nichol Caisley. If you need a genre, think the third wave of the British folk revival.

Barclay and Steele are just returned from summer
touring and recording in Tyneside UK
We'll be featured performers at the White Church, RI if you want to drop by and hear a few Northumberland or Quebec fiddle tunes, and our usual mix of songs from both sides of the Atlantic.
We spent some days up at Studio One at Tyneside, playing in the new CD.
We're not sure what it will be called yet, maybe: With the Night Fast Approaching.
We were delighted to work again with guest fiddler Nichol Caisley & with engineer
Ron Angus. There's just a few voice tracks to attain, and perhaps one more song...

It will be an early sets night, so working folks can still get up the next day. We've been away from our friends in Toronto, for what seems like years. And it is! We have a special guest fiddler Jesse Hull performing with us that night. He'll be arriving all the way from from Austrailia, via Manitoba. The lengths we go to! Jesse played with us on the album ISLET, and also on Rebecca's new album, CINNABAR, which will be released shortly, in 2010. Look forward to see you at the Gladstone!
